Okay, so over the weekend I found this great site called Card Positioning Systems- CPS Blog. This is a FANTASTIC blog that offers daily sketches to boost your inspiration! So. I decided to give it a try! Sometimes it is just easier working off of a sketch, I mean, ideally I like to create what I have in my own mind, but sometimes I have nothin' - at these times it is nice to follow a sketch.
This weekend the sketch was to choose your favorite sketch from 79 sketches and make a card and something else following the sketch. Below is my take on CPS#60.
The papers and ribbon I used for these little ditties are from a card kit that I got from Kelly over at Keep In Touch Card Shop. With everything that has been going on in my personal life, mainly my girlfriend passing away, I have not had a chance to even think about using this kit! But, it was calling to me last night and so I hope that I did this kit justice!
The patterned paper is from Sassafras - Life is Beautiful collection (Pocket Full of Rosies) - that cutie orange ribbon is also from the kit (Summerbright). The chipboard butterflies I bought at Wal Mart in a big pack of chipboard and I honestly have no idea who the manufacturer is because I threw away the wrapping! Oops! The Butterflies on the tag are punched out using a Martha Stewart punch. All the edges have been inked and distressed and the "dream" stamp is by Stampin' Up - Flexible Phrases.
This was a lot of fun and I encourage everyone to go and give it a try! Thanks CPS!!!
Okay, and below is a little card I whipped up for an October Guest Design Team Contest. Not sure if I got the spot or not, but it was fun anyways and it got me stamping again and with a stamp set that I absolutely LOVE but have never used until now!
I used Cosmo Cricket paper - Haunted - a very adorable little vellum envelope. The stamps I used were:
Stampin' Up: Full Calendar and Mark the Date also Flexible Phrases (happy Halloween)
Snag'em Stamps - Hallowhimsy Collection - Spooky and Cobweb
Maya Road - Clear Stamps - Journaling Notes - the little itty bitty owl!
Lace, buttons, dried flowers, ribbon, hemp twine and gems.
You had to makes something with a "Fall" theme and it had to be stamped! I think that it fits the bill, but we shall see! Like I said, it was FUN! And that is all that counts!
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!!!
