Sending A Hug Card Challenge

Oooooh! I hope I'm not too late! I had such a time taking this picture and getting it straight!!! Oh well, if I didn't make it in time, no big deal!  I still have a beautiful card to send to the very nice lady that gave (yes gave) a Jenday Conure (for you guys that don't know what it is, it's a very beautiful bird) to my 14 year old son Dakota who is nuts over birds!!!!

I wanted something special to send to her, because she is so very special and we are so very grateful to have met her.

I used  a journaling card (have no idea who makes these but I bought them at Archivers to use in a scrapbook) for the saying. The tea cup is from Creative Imaginations. Well, there are two - one is stuck underneath and the one on top is popped up. The butterflies I cut out of Little Yellow Bicycle Sharon Ann Collection, buttons are Making Memories.....my tag and bow for this challenge are in the inside (View this photo). I recycled some ribbon that came from a Mother's Day package that my mom gave me and the "thanks" is from Stampin' Up.

So that is my "little cup of gratitude" card for this wonderful challenge....thanks Melissa for helping me NOT proscrastinate - I am mailing this off in the morning and I hope she feels like she is getting a great big hug when she receives it!

Creative Express Busy Bee Challenge

This little card was so much fun! I wasn't going to make a baby card but I wanted to use my new Making Memories Animal Crackers stuff that I got at Cord Camera yesterday. I tried to find a whole bunch more than 3 Bees but I ended up with only 3! Oh well...it was a lot of fun and I wanted to do more but I have been soo busy this weekend. I am going to try to do Melissa's but we'll see. We just got a Jenday Conure today and he is being really noisy right now! Thanks for looking!!

Philippa's Eat Fresh Challenge

Fun-Fun- Fun!!! I had a blast with all of these challenges! I love this bowl of cherries stamp and it called out to me to do one more challenge! I am beat and I have to clean up my studio (don't even want to talk about it) and I have to get up for work tomorrow plus there is a recorded Desperate Housewives calling my name, but I wanted to do this card so here it is!!! Yummy - now I am craving some fresh cherries...sigh...

I used DCWV Paper - its really cute in person, it is a little sparkly and it has little itty bitty cherries all over!

Catherine's Embrace Nature Challenge

Well, I thought the challenges ended last night but they don't end until tonight so...after cleaning all day I decided to try to do some more. This one was pretty easy because I have wanted to use these owls for awhile. I figure there are probably 5,000 cards with owls for this challenge but I figured what the heck!

The hardest part was getting my twig to stick! It kept popping off but I finally got it to stay. The ink on the ribbon also started to bleed a little towards the end but all in all, I am happy with it!

I used Creative Imaginations paper, ribbon, flowers, buttons, Hero Arts for the owls and the saying and a goose feather and a twig!! Enjoy!

Emilia's Coffee Sleeve Challenge - Earth Day

This is the last one for me...I am whooped! I had so much fun! This one was especially challenging. First I tried stamping on the coffee sleeve with the corrugated side up. It didn't work too well for me with the stamp I wanted to use. So then I thought I would make a tag. But it still looked plain so I looked through all my rub-ons and I found these from K & Company that have really earthy colors. I love them and they fit! I was a little worried that they wouldn't adhere but they actually took real nicely to the corrugation.

So, now I have a beautiful little tag and it even has it's own "pocket" to go in.

Thanks for the challenge it was really fun!  Oh and here is a close up... 

Melissa's Earth Day Lunch Sack Challenge

This challenge was absolutely fantastic and fun as well! I used the lunch sack as the actual card base. Cut it down to a smaller size and folded the edges over. I bound the inside edge with ribbon. Did a little sewing and added some trim and ribbon and my "bloom" stamp from SU (LOVE THAT STAMP).  I used ribbon for the leaf and stem and a silk flower with a cutie litle button middle and pearl accents by Hero Arts!!! WHAT FUN!!!! Happy Earth Day again...going to see what else I can accomplish tonight!!! {jill_b}

Kim's Newspaper Earth Day Challenge

What fun! I am typing in GREEN because this is for the Earth Day challenge over at Just Johanna!!!! YAY!!!

I had a lot of fun with this card. I knew immediately that I wanted to use some fun animal stamps cause I love animals and they are such a big part of the earth and their survival relies on how we humans treat our earth!

I used Autumn Leaves stamps because I don't have any Just Johanna stamps yet! I really want some and will be looking into that soon. I especially love the owls! I used Karen Foster paper for the card and I colored the stamos with Prismacolors and gamsol. THAT was a challenge in itself! You see, I have been having a horrible time with my ink bleeding so this morning Brenda and I set off to find some dye ink pads. We went to the Amish stamp lady and I found the Marvy Matchables black ink there...finally got home and it works perfectly. Works with my  new Copics too...no bleeding!! YAY! Okay so then I cut everything out and added dimension and of course, NEWSPAPER as an accent then I decided to use it as the grass too!! Totally fun card and really way more cute in person! Enjoy! Here is another view - I had to take these after dark and I have absolutely no luck with good photos unless there is natural sunlight so I adjusted this one in Photoshop. 

Melissa' Challenge

Wow! Melissa over at LilyBean's Paperie and now at Pursuit of CraftYness had another challenge. Okay...so I am totally hooked.... I am still not sure if I am "playing by the rules". I always read the challenge but get so pumped up about the challenge that I want to hurry and start looking for paper, ribbon, images ect.

So...I totally made this card and then the thought dawned on me...I think I was supposed to do something that represented both cards....my bad! I also think it came out looking very similar (not exactly cuz hers is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s) to Melissa's. I hope she isn't offended but it gave me some inspiration (much needed) to use some stuff that I had bought and not gotten around to using yet (yep - 'nother bad habit of mine).

So that is my card and I hope you enjoy! Love the challenges...LOVE THEM!!!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge

Okay so...I do one challenge and bam...I am hooked! Must be my addictive personality eh B? Any-who.. I started looking around for some more challenges and decided to give this one a try. Not sure if there were any "rules" - I didn't see any. She does such fabulous work I kinda got lost looking around her blog...but I overcame my urge to keep looking and got down to business! Here is my card:

Now...I seem to have a major problem these days coloring in stamped images and then doing absolutely nothing with them! I stamped and colored these cupcakes weeks ago and they have been laying on my table since. So I got a glimpse of them out of the corner of my eye tonight and decided to put them to use.

I used DCWV paper - love their Nana's Nursery Baby Girl paper! The small cupcake stamp is one that I picked up at "the Amish stamp lady" - have to blog about her later - too much to tell on that one but I will tell you this...she is Amish and she has a little stamp store in Mesopotamia, Ohio and Brenda and I love her and love to go and get stamps from her. Anyway, no idea who makes the little cupcake. The big cupcake is a Hero Arts clear stamps that is in their "Sparkle Clear" set. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and I used glitter on the big cupcake and Stickles on the little ones. The ribbon - can't see it too well because my lighting stinks at night...but it is a sheer pale pink ribbon.

Well, I guess that is it...I have some more blogs to visit and will be looking for some more challenges! Yay! Night {Jill B}
